In my opinion, I think Football is not good, because it's a lot of attacking when they play. many people are mad when they can't be the star, but at the same time, they enjoy playing.

In my opinion, i wolud say it's no good for kids because some of the kids think they are going to be star and follow their fans. But sometimes it depens of the kids thinking what are they going to do when they grow up.

In my opinion, Football is a little bit violent for kids because they can hurt other kids.
It is much better if you are bigger because they need people like that, but there are more injuries

Footbaall is to violent for kids because kids are learning how to use the violence. And some players can get injured.

As a football player I can say first hand that football is very violent. But thats what makes it football. If you change that, you change the game. All of the players are well aware of what they're getting themselves into, and accept the risk.

I'm not the biggest football fan and I've never played football in any formal manner other than just casual games with friends.

Having said all that...I absolutely HATE what happening in our society. Our politically correct every child is a special snowflake mentality is what's destroying our once great nation. Football too violent? Children see worse on TV everyday either on the news on prime time TV (not even cable). Why don't we stop kids from using computers and phones, watching TV, or leaving their rooms. Let's board up their windows. Yeah that's the way to keep them safe.

I don't think Football should be banned. Students LOVE watching football, and at our school Friday night football games are usually what everyone is looking forward to at the end of the week.

Yes football is a dangerous sport but if you think its to dangerous for high school kids to play you need to rethink what it means to be in high school. With out football what sporting event would students look forward to the next tennis match ?( no offense to those tennis players out there) why say the best sport in high school is to dangerous if with out it high school would be a very boring place

No, football shouldn't be banned in high schools. Football is just a sport. So what if people get hurt, shouldn't they expect to when they sign up?

I think we should keep football because it is great way for kids and teens to do something fun and realive stress.

yeah....let's listen to all of the fat, weak, liberal-tarded idiots who probably were never good enough to be apart of something like a football team. violence is not a bad thing when it is harnessed and used in a productive manner. what will we replace the void from football going away? i'm sure you pansy cry babies would like something where everyone wins and no one ever has to work for any degree of success in the matter.

Yes, football can be severally dangerous and fun! But, once these 5th and 6th graders on a varsity team move on to middle and high school, there is no more bumping, there's tackling, they could get hurt or even killed!

Yes because it can hurt people seriously and put them in hospitals for months. It's not safe when it happens more than once and it usually does.

It gives kids a chance to hit someone and not get in trouble.

Athletes know the risks of playing sports so if they get hurt it is their own fault.

    March 13, 2012 at 1:23 pm |

No because every single sport has a chance for someone to get hurt.

Isnt this why football is played? Thats the best part about the game. If they dont want to get hurt they shouldnt bother played the "deadly" sport

Football is the American sport, at least it is when football season comes around. Basically any sport can give you injury, whether it be cheerleading, volleyball, or basketball. Football players know what they are going into when they join the team, and if they thought football was too dangerous, they wouldnt' play.

Football is a sport that is almost a way of America now. Kids that want to do Pro-football need to start early or there won't be dads sitting around yelling at tvs anymore. They know what they're getting themselves into when they sign up and are willing to take risks for their happiness. Heck, any sport can be dangerous. Cheerleaders can get dropped or have mishaps while doing flips and etc. Basketball players can get fouled a little too violently. Any sport is dangerous! Football is not TOO dangerous.

for some people football is a way of life. yes its a violent sport but if you want to take a risk your putting your self at risk, no one else should be blamed your your injuries because you signed up

Football should be banned in high school because students are getting hurt. Students are not supposed to be getting hurt at school events.

There are risks involved for almost any hobby. If you ban football, then you must be willing to ban all sports where students can possibly be harmed. In short, that mean all of them. Players are told of the risks involved before they become part of the team, and there is a constant effort from parents and coaches that take measures to keep kids safe. Talking as someone who participates in a truly dangerous sport, football is not too dangerous for highschoolers.

Football is always going to be violent. It is never going to be safe. Football is football. It's just violent.

I don`t think football should be cut because it is a great way for kids to let out steam and a great way for exercise.
