I guess the teacher's union is using it as a bargining chip with contract negotiations. They have not had a contract for years and they also have had a pay freeze for many years too. They deal with the worst kids around and currently the teachers are in the hot seat about the quality of education of the children yet the truency rate is through the roof. Can't teach a kid if they are not there.
I agree this free plastic surgery needs to end immediately- I also think the city should finally sit down and negociate the contract so that teachers actually get the first pay raise they have had in 8 or 9 years.

this is absurd. Why should tax payers have to foot the bill for these teachers' vanity?

Seriously, I can't get my health insurance to pay for Lasik Eye Surgery, something that will help me see better. But Teachers in Buffalo get Free Plastic Surgery, cause they want to look better. . . . . ? Way to go Teachers union!
